About
I founded heARTpiece, a program meant to help connect individuals with hospice patients to create collaborative pieces of art. The projects use therapeutic materials such as sand and paint to help patients express themselves artistically.
My goal with heARTpiece was to emphasize empowering patients through art and social interaction. With people over the age of 65 expected to make up 19% of the population by 2030, programs such as heARTpiece, which connect older and younger generations, will become increasingly important.
Currently, heARTpiece has chapters in Northern Virginia and Brooklyn, NY.
Creations
Creation is an empowering process. heARTpiece seeks to inspire creation by providing the means and structure to do so.
